Tree Trucker

There is a lot of work going on each side of a road in Nakseongdae that I travel along on the bus each day on the way to work. They have been fixing up the gutters and the paving and also planting trees. In the photo above, the driver of the truck is getting ready to hoist some large trees from the back of his truck onto the pavement. I was a little nervous about him hitting the overhead power lines with his crane, but he skillfully got them down safely.

Wow, that's a big mature tree that's being transplanted. Quite a process.

Re: my 1964 Vespa GL, there are a couple of links within my Wetter than Wet post if you want to see what she looks like.

Hi Phil..where do they get these trees from? Some kinda tree farm? :)

On the other hand, saw on tv - lotsa rallies and protests going on in seoul by the public and students. Hope things are ok on your side.

They are quite mature trees and I assume that they are plantation grown. The demonstrations have been tied up with the FTA and US beef imports, and the associated hostility towards the government. There is a big rally in front of City Hall this long weekend (Memorial Day) and we have been advised to keep clear in case we are mistaken for Americans.
