The Fisherman

I saw this very well-equipped fisherman on the Han River near Inchon. Given the number of rods he has set up, he obviously takes his sport/hobby very seriously.

How did he carry all of that on the little motorbike? He does look very serious. I just love photos like this!

I wondered the same thing myself. Alas, I didn't see hime arrive, or leave. Cheers...

Perhaps he even makes his living this way. That's a whole lot of gear to transport via scoot!

I've seen a few guys set up with a similar number of rods. Frankly I'd be a bit nervous about eating fish out of this part of the river given the size of the city and the run-off/pollution from residential and industrial areas. On occasion I have seen quite a few dead fish floating in the river.

He is certainly tooled up big time! he must have at least 8 rods there! Nice candid capture.

Wow..looks like he is really determined to bring back a basket full of fishes.

The pollution problem is quite sad, Phil, given how the koreans managed to make changyecheong stream such a success.

Hi murphy_jay. I am told that the City government has plans to improve the access to, and the appearance of, sections of the river; let's hope that water quality is also on the agenda. Most cities capitalize on their rivers as tourist attractions, but Seoul doesn't seem to have done this to date. Cheers...
