Korea's Nelson?

The statue of Admiral Yi Sun-Sin near Gwanghwamun Subway Station, central Seoul. Admiral Yi is a famous Korean naval hero and is credited with designing and building the equally famous turtle ship. He has been likened to England's Lord Nelson.

What an impressive statue. I love the pose. Nice photo of it too.

As Jilly said, plus I think the admiral was a bit on the chubby side... ;D

Saw the turtle ship. What a wonderful vessel.

Thanks for the comments. The statue is high on a pedestal in the middle of the road. I had to go back a fair bit and make use of the x12 zoom on my camera to improve the perspective. Nevertheless I think the angle of the shot makes the Admiral look more chubby than he actually is. Cheers...
